Birmingham Marriott Hotel
About the Hotel
Why We Love This Hotel
- Within easy reach of Birmingham’s major landmarks -- such as the Museum & Art Gallery & The Mailbox
- A grand building with classic décor throughout, featuring marble floors & wood furnishings
- There’s a gym, pool & spa, plus on-site parking
Flaunting a brick exterior with a grand fa?ade, this easy-to-get-to 4-star Marriott in Birmingham’s centre offers classical elegance (think marble floors and dark wood furnishings) within easy reach of the city’s attractions.
England’s second city (unless you’re from Manchester) has plenty to show visitors. The very centre of Birmingham is around a 30-minute walk or 20-minute train trip from the hotel. Once there, check out the Museum & Art Gallery, Cathedral, Science Museum or National Sea Life Centre. Shopping enthusiasts will love the Bullring Shopping Centre and The Mailbox, while chocoholics of all ages can take the train to Bourneville for Cadbury World. Further afield, you can explore the Shropshire Hills (just over an hour away by car) or Stratford-upon-Avon (less than an hour).
Birmingham has no shortage of restaurants -- five of them have Michelin stars, and the city prides itself on an astonishing number of Indian food establishments. But if you do find yourself back at the hotel, there’s a traditional bar and grill open for dinner. Breakfast is served here, too -- choose from full, continental or buffet breakfasts. Other facilities include a gym, indoor pool and spa with steam room.
The 104 suites are predictably classical in décor -- some guests have complained that the hotel looks a little dated -- but have all the mod cons expected of a Marriott - flat-screen TVs, pay-per-view movies, and Wi-Fi (charges apply). Interconnecting Family Suites are spacious, with separate living spaces, as well as walk-in closets.
