Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh University Place
About the Hotel
Why We Love This Hotel

- Walk to universities
- Free local shuttle and Wi-Fi
- On-site restaurant and convenience store
The Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh University Place is set right in the heart of the vibrant Oakland neighborhood, where several universities and world-class medical facilities are located. The University of Pittsburgh’s Medical Center is a three-minute walk, the University of Pittsburgh's main campus is a nine-minute walk, Carnegie Mellon University is a 15-minute walk and Carlow University is five minutes down the street.
The hotel is contemporary with a step-down lower lobby that creates several cozy seating nooks. Inviting warm tones of tan, brown and brick red encourage lingering on the couches and easy chairs. Square ottomans, tripod lamps and wood-paneled walls are modern touches that create a residential feeling.
Rooms repeat these colors but with the addition of lime green in accent walls, bolster pillows and woven into the carpeting. All guest quarters come with free Wi-Fi, work spaces with ergonomic chairs and a mini fridge and microwave. For a few dollars more, upgrade to a suite for a separate living area with pull-out sofa.
There’s an on-site restaurant with a bar and a 24-hour convenience store. Or take the free local hotel shuttle to explore some of the neighborhood eats. The Original Hot Dog Shop is a five-minute walk up the street. Famous for it’s “O” fries, the portions are so massive that taking the shuttle home may sound better than walking it off.
