Why We Love This Hotel

  • The rooftop showcases views of Charlottetown Harbour
  • The Confederation Centre of the Arts is half a block away from the hotel
  • Kids 10 and under eat free from May-October
  • Parking and Wi-Fi are complimentary (limited parking during summer months)

Combining old-world charm with modern convenience, Rodd Charlottetown was built in 1931. The interior conveys an attention to historic details -- like the marble floors and vaulted ceiling in the lobby. Park your car for free in the lot and then head to the roof where views of Charlottetown Harbour are unparallelled. Pause here before heading to Chamber’s Restaurant for a meal, where kids 10 and under can eat free from May to October. Start the day with French toast and end with entrees like chicken Cordon Blue and Atlantic salmon Wellington.

Meet in the lounge for a drink before heading out to explore the charm of Prince Edward Island's historic capital.

During warmer months, attend a crab bake or spend time at the beach. From late June through August, the hotel is home to Feast Dinner Theatre, touted as “fun, fluffy musicals” by Fodor’s. The indoor pool, whirlpool and sauna are an inviting escape year-round.

As night approaches, relax in a guest room where a mini-fridge allows you to keep snacks and drinks on hand, while complimentary Wi-Fi access is ideal for staying in touch with friends and colleagues.

We were visiting family and the down town location proved to be the best all the way around.

Parking is limited and in particular when you have the dinner mistry. I would recommend that these guest be asked to park on the street and leave the hotel parking for those who are staying in the hotel.

Everything about our stay was very good. The staff we interacted with were very friendly and always helpful. The location is perfect for walking to restaurants, shows and sightseeing around the city. And our room was clean and comfortable.

Exceptionally pleasant staff. Room was tiny, as to be expected in a historical building. Hotel is lovely & close to everything. Breakfast was excellent & reasonably priced. I would definitely return & will recommend this hotel to friends.

Very convenient location, excellent value for your money and a top rated restaurant were the chief reasons we chose this inn.

Room was good value but glad I had only booked 1 night and not 2.
Other Comments
Agent who handled check-in was slow and inefficient. He could not find the reservation I had to remind him about the gift card and then it took an hour to get it delivered to room. Bed in room was comfortable, everything else was dated and no real desk to work. The hotel is undergoing some renovation. The only positive was the room was good value for money.
